WALKING GUIDES
Explore Europe's forgotten walking paradise

WE are now stocking a range of walking leaflets by Tony Allen, who is well known locally as the walking correspondent of a local magazine. The leaflets include colour pictures, GPS waypoints, and small contour maps. More routes will be added in due course. A full list of  routes and a locator map of where they are will be added shortly to this website.

WE are also distributors of  Elma Thompson's remarkable labour of love, Exploring the Axarquía, a series of leaflets that are the fruit of more than 20 years of walking the mountains of southern Spain.

The Axarquía is one of the most beautiful walking areas in Europe, but is still relatively undiscovered.  It is possible to walk for many hours in rugged mountain scenery, through pine forest and maquis, through gorges where clear waters rush to the sea, catching only a rare glimpse of other humans, usually goatherds and their flocks.  This is the domain of eagles, wild ibex and other nature lovers' delights.  White mountain villages with welcoming bars, restaurants, inns and hotels await the weary walker at the end of a long day in the hills.

Please read the following disclaimer  Distances and times are only approximate and refer to doing the walk at a steady pace without breaks or pauses to admire the view.  Walkers tells us that, for the more hilly routes in particular, a generous amount of time should be added on to enjoy the experience at leisure.  Although these guides have been used successfully by many walkers for more than a decade, we accept no responsibility for any errors  that they may contain, nor for anything that may happen as a consequence of using them.  You should always be adequately equipped and prepared for the weather, with sufficient supplies of water in warm weather.  Respect the hills!
