Only 45 minutes from Nerja by car or direct bus, Malaga boasts some excellent bars and restaurants. The old Civil Guard house in the Alameda Principal has a great collection of modestly priced sweet Malaga wines and seafood tapas. Standing only!

The Alhambra car park is only one and a quarter hours from Nerja by car on a reasonably traffic-free day, but this time will shrink even further when the next section of the coastal motorway is finished. Once seen, never forgotten, the Alhambra is simply one of those 'things to do before you die'.
